VAN – DER HUM GLAZED APPLE STACKS
Ingredients
- 24 GRANNY SMITH APPLES PEELED AND DECORED
- 125 ML. LEMON JUICE
- 1CUP RAISINS
- 1CUP VAN DER HUM LIQUEUR
- 1CUP BROWN SUGAR
Preparation
- Prepare the oven at 180`C
Cut apples into ½ cm thick rings, stacking each apple into it’s original shape. - Intersperse rings of 2 apples to make single stack, alternating with a`row` of raisins.
- Repeat the procedure to make 12 stacks.
- In an oven proof skillet cook liquer and brown sugar over a moderate heat, stirring until the sugar has dissolved.
- Remove skillet from the heat and add the apple stacks.
- Brush the apples with liquer mixture and bake in the oven for 1 hour or until apples are just tender, but still hold their shape.
- Transfer the apples to a place to cool
- Serve with whipped cream or Ice cream
- Serves 12 pax
