VAN – DER HUM GLAZED APPLE STACKS

Ingredients

  1. 24 GRANNY SMITH APPLES PEELED AND DECORED
  2. 125 ML. LEMON JUICE
  3. 1CUP RAISINS
  4. 1CUP VAN DER HUM LIQUEUR
  5. 1CUP BROWN SUGAR

Preparation

  • Prepare the oven at 180`C
    Cut apples into ½ cm thick rings, stacking each apple into it’s original shape.
  • Intersperse rings of 2 apples to make single stack, alternating with a`row` of raisins.
  • Repeat the procedure to make 12 stacks.
  • In an oven proof skillet cook liquer and brown sugar over a moderate heat, stirring until the sugar has dissolved.
  • Remove skillet from the heat and add the apple stacks.
  • Brush the apples with liquer mixture and bake in the oven for 1 hour or until apples are just tender, but still hold their shape.
  • Transfer the apples to a place to cool
  • Serve with whipped cream or Ice cream
  • Serves 12 pax
