Bacon, Spring Onion and Potato Bread

Bacon, Spring Onion and Potato Bread

Ingredients

  1. 250 Bacon, cut into pieces
  2. 5 Spring onions chopped
  3. 125ml. Milk
  4. 10ml. Sugar
  5. 20g Butter
  6. 10g Instant dry yeast
  7. 500ml. Cake Flour sieved
  8. 5ml. Salt
  9. 125ml. Potato cooked and mashed
  10. Milk to brush on top

Preparation

Fry the Bacon and Onions for 5 minutes
Heat the Milk, Sugar and Butter but do not boil (leave to cool until lukewarm)
Mix the Yeast, flour and salt together
Add the Milk mixture to the dry ingredients and mix well
Add the Bacon mixture and Potatoes and mix
Turn the dough out knead it until it is smooth and elastic
Place the dough into a well greased bread pan and allow raising double its original size
Preheat the Oven to 200`C
Brush the Bread with Milk
Bake in the pre heated oven for 40 to 50 minutes or until is cooked and brown in colour.
